We understand starting childcare can be a little unsettling for a child and their family. We endeavour to make the transition as smooth as possible for you all.
This handbook will assist you through this process. Please read the handbook carefully. If you have any questions please chat to our Co-op staff.
We recommend you start your child at Co-op at least one week before returning to work as it can be hard for families and children to transition to a new care setting for the first time.
Plan your child’s first few days at Co-op to be shorter where possible.
We recommend at least 2 x 1 hour orientation visits before leaving your child for the first time. Make the most of your orientation visits: ask questions, ensure your child meets their educators and ensure that your child knows his/her way around the play spaces, including knowing where the bathroom is and where to store their personal belongings.
Program Co-op's number into your phone so you can call us during the day! Be assured that we will call you if your child is unwell or unusually upset.
